Alex Salazar Vargas is a certified Official Mountain Guide with more than 15 years of experience in high-altitude expeditions. Born in the rural community of Yarush, Independencia (Huaraz), he has been actively involved in mountaineering since the age of 16.
He completed his professional training at the High Mountain Studies Center of Huaraz, earning the prestigious IFMGA (UIAGM) certification in 2018. He holds a Technical Degree in Nursing and a Bachelor’s degree in Foreign Languages (English) from UNASAM.
Throughout his career, he has developed key skills such as leadership, effective communication, teamwork, decision-making, risk management, resilience, and critical thinking. In 2018, he founded AndesXped with the goal of sharing his passion for the mountains and offering authentic and safe experiences.
