Prevention of the Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents in the Tourism Sector

In this context, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR) seeks to raise awareness among regional and local authorities, tourism service providers, and the general public through prevention actions aimed at eradicating this issue in the country.

Actions

  • Technical assistance to regional and local governments: We train officials working in regional and local governments on the prevention of the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents in the tourism sector.

  • Informational videos: We provide audiovisual materials to raise awareness among officials and tourism service providers and to teach them good practices for preventing CSEC (Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children).

  • Capacity building for tourism service providers: We raise awareness, provide information, and share best practices with tourism service providers regarding the prevention of CSEC.

  • Promotion of the signing of Codes of Conduct against CSEC: We promote the signing of the Mandatory Affidavit of Adherence to the Code of Conduct against the Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents by the legal representatives of tourism service providers.

  • In accordance with Law No. 30802, which establishes conditions for the admission of children and adolescents into lodging establishments, with the objective of guaranteeing their protection and integrity.
