Overview

The mountain of the seven colors (Winicunca), is one of the tourist attractions that are in front of the mountain of Ausangate 6300 m, in the mountain range of the Vilcanota, it is the fifth mountain of Peru, is to more than 100km of the distance of the imperial city of Cusco. Its coloring is natural and this is due to a large abundance of sedimentary stones in erosion, what makes it so beautiful and impressive is how these stones are formed to give the appearance of a rainbow (7 colors). Red, purple, pink, green and yellow stands out among others.

Note:

  • This type of tour is recommended, as part of your acclimatization. If you want to take trekking or climbing packages. We recommend taking more than one tour, to avoid problems with altitude. It is necessary to solve your doubts at the time of booking.

Itinerary description

04:00 am: We will pick you up at your hotel, then we will go by bus for about two hours to the south until we reach the district of Cusipata – Paucarpata 3310 m, where we will have breakfast, then we will continue for another hour until we reach the checkpoint.

9:00 am: We will begin the walk (Llaqto), the walk will last approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes, on the way we will observe the typical flora and fauna of the Andes. Among those that stand out the presence of Llamas and Alpacas, we will pass by beautiful ravines and see snowy peaks, when arriving at the viewpoint of Winicunca or Mountain of Colors (5080 m). Once in the place, we will take pictures to remember and enjoy the beautiful landscape. Finally, we will return in the same way until the point where we began the walk (Llaqto). The transportation will be waiting for us at this place, which will take us back to Cusco.

5:00 pm: arrival in Cusco.
