Overview

The Willcacocha lagoon is located inside the Cordillera Negra at 3745m, with a magnificent and panoramic view of the Cordillera Blanca; it is recommended for the shots of the Cordillera Blanca, this beautiful hike offers us a panoramic view; in the same way, it is a good option of acclimatization, for later ascents of superior level.

Itinerary description

8:00 am Departure from the city of Huaraz in a private vehicle heading southwest from Chiwipampa we will make a detour to the Cordillera Negra. This lagoon for its location constitutes an exceptional view of the White Mountain range, allowing to identify peaks like the Huandoy, towards the north, passing by the Huascarán, Chopicalqui, Hualcan, Copa, Vallunaraju, Ocshapalca, Ranrapalca, Palcaraju, Churup, Chinchey, San Juan, Huamashraju, Huantsán, Cashan, Shacsha, Pucaraju, Mururaju until Caullaraju by the south.

3:00 pm: Arrival in Huaraz
