Overview

Llanganuco’s portachuelo is one of the most popular places to acclimatize. It is considered beautiful because of its great view of the snow-capped mountains and the lagoons. From here you can get magnificent panoramic shots of sunrise and sunset.

Note:

  • This type of tour is recommended, as part of your acclimatization. If you want to take trekking or climbing packages. We recommend taking more than one tour, to avoid problems with altitude. It is necessary to solve your doubts at the time of booking.

Itinerary description

7:00 am: The transfer is made from Huaraz in private mobility, the route is made towards the north part of the Callejón de Huaylas and the Cordillera Blanca, from Yungay it deviates to the Eastside entering by the Quebrada de Llanganuco, lagoons of Chinancocha and Orconcocha (Laguna Hembra and Macho), all the ascent is made in bus until the step of Portachuelo de Llanganuco. From the pass, you have a beautiful panoramic view of the snow-capped mountains of the northern part of the Cordillera Blanca such as the North and South Huascaran, Chopicalqui, Chacraraju, Yanapaccha, Pisco and Huandoy. After the pass, you can make the descent to Yurakcorral. Here the transport will be waiting for us to return to Huaraz.

4:00 pm: Arrival in Huaraz.
