Huayhuash is considered among the 10 most beautiful trekking circuits in the world. It is one of the most impressive mountain ranges of Peruvian Andes. In its 30 Km from North to South, 7 peaks overcome the 6000 meters and 7 elevations of more than 5500 meters; its varied and unequaled sceneries and panoramic views make them unique in natural beauty.
If you want to do this kind of walk, it is necessary to be well acclimatized; to be good physical conditions during the trekking.
The itinerary is a model to follow, however, situations such as natural disasters, climate change, landslides, political unrest, strikes, demonstrations, changes in government regulations or another force majeure may cause this program to vary.
Departure from Huaraz city in private vehicles toward the south, passing by the provinces of Recuay, Ticapampa, and Catac. Following our journey we will deviate from Conococha Lake towards the East, passing through Huallanca and the last province La Union, finally, we will arrive at the Huanuco Pampa Ruins (3900m) (5 to 6 hours approx.)

We will continue our trip with a private vehicle by a trail until Queropalca (3800m) (3 to 4 hours approx.), it is there where we begin our trek ascending valley up to the lagoon Carhuacocha (4100m) (4 to 5 hours approx.)

We will begin our hike, along the left side of the Carhuacocha lagoon (4100m) until the end of the valley, to begin ascending to the Siula pass (4850masl) from where we will obtain spectacular views of the snow-capped mountains such as the Yerupaja (6634masl), considered the second highest mountain in Peru, Siula (6356m). Finally, we will descend to the Huayhuash camp (4350masl) (6 to 7 hours approx.).

This morning we will ascend to the pass Portachuelo de Huayhuash (4750masl) from where we will appreciate one of the mountain ranges called Raura, as well as the snow-capped mountains Cuyoc, Puscanturpas, Trapecio, Jurao, and Carnicero, then we will descend passing by the Viconga lagoon, finally arriving to the thermal baths of Viconga where we will spend the night (5 to 6 hours approx. of walking).

During this morning we will ascend by a small path up the valley, until the second highest pass of our trek, Paso Cuyoc (5000masl) from where we will obtain spectacular views of the South and North part of the Huayhuash mountain range, appreciating the snowy Yerupaja, Sarapo, Cuyoc, and others, then we will descend towards the Cuyoc or Elephant camp at an altitude of (4450masl) (5 to 6 hours of trekking approximately).

We will begin our ascent by a little visible way until arriving at the second higher step of the trekking Santa Rosa Step (5070masl) from where we will obtain beautiful panoramic views of the snowy ones of Yerupaja, Rasac, Sarapo, Siula, Ancocancha, Rosario, Tsacra and Huacrish. Then we will descend, passing the camp of Cutatambo (4265masl), finally, we will descend by the Calinca valley until arriving at the town of Huayllapa (3508m) (7 to 8 hours approx.).

We will initiate our walk from the Town of Huayllapa, in the way we will observe the snowy Diablo Mudo, following our walk we will arrive until the next step Tapush Punta (4770m), of this place, can be observed of equal way we will observe the other face of the mount Diablo Mudo, finally, we will descend until the camp Gashpapampa (4500masl). (5 to 6 hours approx.) place where we will spend the night.

Our departure starts in the morning from our camp, following a quite visible path until we arrive at Paso Llaucha Punta 4850masl. At the pass you can get beautiful panoramic views of the snow-capped mountains that make up the Cordillera Huayhuash, then descend the Huacrish valley to our next campsite Laguna Jahuacocha (4100m) (5 to 6 hours approx.)

Finally culminating our adventure we will follow the ascent of the last pass called Pampa Llamac (4300masl), where we will appreciate for the last time the imposing snow-capped mountains of the Cordillera Huayhuash, next we will descend by the well-marked road, that will take us until the town of Llamac (4300m), it is there where our private transport awaits for us that will take us to our departure place, Huaraz (3100m) end of the expedition (4 to 5 hours approximately walking and driving 4 to 5 hours)
